I was driving home last night after doing a little shopping when I came across a radio show called Crosstalk. They were just finishing a piece on how McDonalds had recently become a member of the National Gay & Lesbian Chamber of Commerce (NGLCC). They paid $20,000 for such an honor. So don't be surprised if you see a little 'lovin it' between two gay people at McDonalds.
Richard Ellis, McDonald's VP of Communications and now member of the board of directors for NGLCC, said:
Sounds to me like the guy is gay and I'm not saying that to be funny.
McDonalds also sponsored the Gay Pride Parade in 2007 in, of all places, San Fransisco. Huh. Who would've thunk it?
Take a look:
McDonald's rep giving full support of Gay Pride 2007...and lovin it!
McDonald's Ain't Lovin This
When it comes to the traditional family and the those who speak out against the homosexual agenda and same sex marriage (now commonly called SMS), well...they start doing a little hatin'.
Bill Whitman, a spokesman for McDonalds, said in a statement to the Washington Post:
It's An Inside Job
In addition, McDonald's sponsors Out & Equal™ Workplace Advocates, a national organization devoted to the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) community in the workplace. One of its primary purposes is to train employees how to aggressively promote homosexuality within the company they work for,
all the way to the corporate boardroom. Part of last year’s Out & Equal Summit in Washington, DC, (sponsored by McDonald’s) was an organized march into congressional offices demanding same-sex marriage laws be passed.
So if you're working for the corporate sector, McDonald's just may be influencing your work environment with more than a Big Mac, large fry, and a Coke.
Fight The Good Fight
The American Family Association has put together a boycott of McDonald's. Yeah, I know. It seems like a boycott is happening every ten minutes. However, when you consider the times that we're living in, probably should be happening more like every five.
In all seriousness, this is one you should be joining as a Christian. How hard is it going to be for you to skip McDonald's and go to Burger King, Wendy's, or Rally's? They can just as easily clog your arteries as McDonald's AND their food tastes better.
Giving money is a very vocal and public way to say that you support someone. You're saying you're with them 100% of the way and I'm a part of it. That's why when McDonald's plunks down $20,000 to join the San Fransisco NGLCC, you know they mean business.
The Bible says that if someone is coming at you crazy who doesn't come with the teaching of Christ that we're not to let them in our homes or even greet them (2 John 1:8-11). We're to take no part in the what these people do (Ephesians 5:11-12) and to call them out when we see them happening (Ezekial 22:2, 2 Timothy 4:2).
So spread the word and get others to sign the petition.
Richard Ellis, McDonald's VP of Communications and now member of the board of directors for NGLCC, said:
"I'm thrilled to join the National Gay & Lesbian Chamber of Commerce team and ready to get to work. I share the NGLCC's passion for business growth and development within the LGBT community, and I look forward to playing a role in moving these important initiatives forward."

Wow, I can't believe you so badly misconstrued McDonald's statement of
"Hatred has no place in our culture," McDonald's USA spokesman Bill Whitman said. "That includes McDonald's, and we stand by and support our people to live and work in a society free of discrimination and harassment."
as an attack on the "traditional family."
First of all, they're just fighting for the equal rights that people like you are trying to take away with your theocratic view of life. Second of all, stop with the "traditional family" crap, because we know you mean "my idea of a traditional family and that's all that matters because god said so."
How can your conscience tell you that support discrimination is right? Would Jesus Christ act like you? I don't think so... (niether Martin Luther King)
I couldn't agree more with Dr. King's statement, asbsolutely true.
amen,
Some of you are missing the point of what the story is about.
This doesn't have anything to do with employing homosexuals. Everyone has to work to eat. The problem here is when they actively take money from their customers to support values that are patently against scripture. That's what this is about and I know that Christ would not be having that.
I'm wondering if you actually read the post.
It's becoming old hat here that people come to the site and comment without having a clue what they're commenting about. The whole idea of a blog is to..uhh...read it.
So if you have a question as to what the post means or what I mean, just ask please. Otherwise the emotional nonsensical replies that have no merit will have to be moderated into the internet ether.
Blessings. :-)
